Amalfi Coast
Elegance meets coastal bliss
Dramatic Cliffs, Seaside Villages, Mediterranean Flavors, and Timeless Charm
The Amalfi Coast is a postcard come to life—a winding stretch of coastline in southern Italy where pastel-colored villages cling to cliffs above the turquoise sea. Known for its dramatic landscapes, rich history, and sun-soaked lifestyle, the region blends natural beauty with centuries-old culture. From Positano’s iconic views to Ravello’s serene gardens and Amalfi’s ancient cathedrals, every stop along the coast is steeped in elegance and authenticity.
Coastal Romance
I first visited the Amalfi Coast in 2013 guiding trips for Backroads, and it instantly became one of my favorite places. There’s something about the rhythm of life here—the slow mornings with espresso, the cliffside trails above lemon groves, and the meals that stretch long into the evening.
A highlight for many travelers is the island of Capri—famous for its rugged coastline and stylish piazzas. Exploring Capri by boat or foot gives you a new perspective on the region’s magic—especially if you catch a sunset from the cliffs above Anacapri. Ask me about the best way to avoid the crowds and to have the ultimate Capri experience.
